Does anyone else watch The Contender? Am I doing no justice to the sweet science by watching it? I couldn't tell you who holds any boxing titles right now and I wouldn't be able to name you my favorite boxer. But it's a sport that I'm semi-interested in (while at SCU I considered joining the boxing club at one point). With Sylvester Stallone and Sugar Ray Leonard hosting, the show is a bit hokey at times but I think it's intersting following these boxers around. And while I know that the editing of the show has a lot to do with how you perceive the boxers, I think the editing done for the actual fights is pretty good because it gives you the good stuff. Sure it makes you question how real the fight was but if they could make boxing shows built off of some of the things in this show, I think boxing could have a good number of fans more.
In other news, my parents just bought a pretty phat pad in Roseville. We went to go check it out last Saturday and I really wish we were moving into this house somewhere closer in the Bay Area. It's definitely cool, though, because now we can save ourselves 2 hours on a trip to Tahoe by staying at this house. So for those of you interested in Tahoe trips, get ready cuz there's gonna be a good amount of boarding this coming winter.
