Just got back from NY and must send many thanks to Ei and her friends for her hospitality. I had a lot of fun. Some quick recaps:
* Friday we did some touristy stuff. Swung by Sea Port (?) which is like a shopping mall. Then we headed over to the site of the World Trade Center. It was a really crazy thing to see. I dunno how to explain it. It's such a somber site. After that, we took a walk toward the Statue of Liberty. There was a free ferry ride to Staten Island so we took that. It's not every day you get to go to Staten Island on a free ferry. We got a closer view of the Statue of Liberty from the ferry, so that was cool.
* Friday night (the 21st) we went to remote lounge which is a really cool place. Haha. And just because I think it's cool doesn't mean I'm a voyeur now. I got drunk.
* Saturday afternoon we caught Aida. It was a pretty cool show. We got really good seats for a good price. If you're in town, I'd recommend it.
* Saturday night we went to this one lounge called Parlay. Pretty small venue, really crowded, high male population... cool I guess. I drank pathetically but someone got drunk and it wasn't me. It was Ei.
* Sunday I went to church. God must've been surprised. It was at St. Patrick's Cathedral. Afterward I walked around Rockefeller Center, 5th Avenue and all that stuff. Pretty cool.
* Sunday night my cousin-in-law picked me up and then headed over to a bar. This is the cousin-in-law who is really baller. After the bar we headed over to his favorite steak place where he paid for a fat-ass steak and lobster meal. Awesome. Then we went to their place in New Jersey where I saw my cousin and niece and nephews. Those kids have soooo much energy. And it was awesome they remembered me.
* He then took me to Atlantic City where I lost a lot of money. We were gonna stay at a hotel room up there but we were both awake so we just drove back to their place. Got home at 6:30am.
* Monday did some shopping, had some dinner.
* Tuesday did a little more shopping and hopped on an earlier flight than planned to home. I was stopped at every checkpoint by security. I was afraid I'd miss the flight but it was cool I guess. Better safe than sorry, even thought I knew they woudln't find anything.
All in all, fun times. Look forward to another good trip sometime soon. Actually, I'm looking forward to some football on Saturday.
