What's goin' on y'all? So I just finished a book called The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown. I thought it was a pretty interesting read with perhaps even more interesting religious implications. Although the story itself is unrelated to The Matrix, the religious themes seem to have some ties with it. The beginning of the book starts off really well but the end is pretty anticlimactic. I'd recommend the book for the interesting religious stuff.
Oh yeah. The puzzles that guide the main characters are pretty cool, too. But some of the answers are a bit predicatable and when it takes the characters pages upon pages to realize it, it gets a bit tiresome. But still, not too bad.

I'll blog some more about recent happenings later. In the meantime, many thanks to Rich for letting me use his server to host this blogger. I don't think Blogger has any plans to allow active transfers so it'll take awhile before I change stuff up around here. I'm gonna need to install some new ftp server software. If you'd like to do it, let me know. You're more than welcome to.
Ok. Here's all my old posts that blogger didn't take:
Karaoke competition for shots is ridiculous. Aunts, uncles, and cousins singing "YMCA" and "Like a Virgin" is embarrassing.

Did you guys notice I changed my website? I did it awhile ago but I thought I'd see if you guys remembered. I thought this one was kind of cool.
Oh, yeah. And did you guys see how fucking cool JJ's new webpage is? Sweet mother, that is awesome. And Eileen's too? It's pretty summery so that's cool very much. I'm especially impressed with the HTML work. Advanced yet simple. Beautiful.

All I gotta say right now is finally I'm fucking 22 and a half years old, you know what I'm saying? And you are all really crazy, too. I can still upload this so I'm A-Okay. Right? Fucking awesome.

Whatsup from Jersey, y'all. So we arrived here at 7AM. Got to the house at around 7:30AM. Had 2 shots (Hennessy and some 21 year old whiskey) and a beer. And then we ate breakfast. Even though it's pretty weak of me, I got a pretty good buzz goin'. Weird.

Ok. So blogger still sucks @$$. I don't really wanna mess around with any of the server settings I have here. I don't envision this getting fixed until next weekend (July 12-13) or so, so sorry folks.
To make matters worse, our DSL service keeps dropping and requires a restart of our modem every so often. What that means is that the sites you see before you (hosted by riskingabsurdity) may be gone while the family and I are in New Jersey.
Nonetheless... if the server is able to stay online and the bloggers on riskingabsurdity know how to do their own html work, they can continue semi-blogging like I'm doing now.
In any case, I've still been able to put up a lot of videos. I know they're a bit late (they're from my graduation party) but hopefully you can still enjoy the embarrassment that some of us have experienced. If you go to the videos page, you'll see them all arranged in chronological order (just as if you were at the party) except for the last video. I thought it was a good video to end the series with.

I haven't figured this crap out yet. I'm starting to think it's a combination of the ftp server and the router configuration I I have. One solution I'm looking at is changing the ftp server software I have and if that's what I need to do, this will take a little while longer. Sorry.
First, a message to blogger: don't fix what ain't broke.
Second, since blogger isn't working for our servers, just like Jeff is doing, I'm coding this myself. Hoorah.
And finally, I'm letting you know that I'm working on fixing the problem. I have my theories about the problem so if you want to know, you may continue reading. Otherwise, go back to downloading your porn instead.
I'm not sure if this is what the problem is, but I think it has to do with the way the Risking Absurdity server handles FTP requests. I believe blogger took it upon themselves to disable active transfers and make everything passive transfers. I do not think that passive transfers are allowed by the RA server. Either that, or the requests are not going through because of the firewall. So it's either 1) the RA server can't do passive transfers or 2) the requests can't go through the firewall. I think it's more likely that it's number 1.
So how am I gonna fix that? No clue. To handle the first problem, I tried working with some of the setting on the server and can't find any there. I'll continue looking. To handle the second problem, I changed the allowable port range and forwarded any requests for those ports to the server but that doesn't appear to work either. In fact, it drops all other computer connections.
Anyhow, if you have any idea of what to do, please feel free to voice your suggestions.
